The Benefits and Logistics of Starting a Disability Employee Resource Group

For the 2019 National Disability Employment Awareness Month, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Natasha Walton to discuss disability Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).

For those that don’t know, Natasha is the founder of Tech Disability Project.

Last year, Tech Disability Project featured stories from people working with disabilities. When I stumbled across these stories at the beginning of this year, it gave me such great comfort to know that I wasn’t alone. It was encouraging and inspiring to read about how other people were managing their disabilities while at work.

I was quite intrigued when I read Natasha’s article on “Creating Adobe’s Employee Network for People with Disabilities.” In the video below, we discuss a bit about this article, the benefits of having an ERG, and the logistics of starting one.

What would having a disability ERG at your company mean for you?

Do you already have a disability ERG at your company? Please share your experience below. We’d love to hear about it!
